What modes does your monitor support? Which Swift 5 model is it? I would expect more like 1920x1080 at least.

Go to Display Settings; Advanced Display settings; Display adapter properties for Display # (choose the external display); List All Modes and take a snapshot that shows them all.

here it is, albeit in Norwegian...:-)
  • billseybillsey ACE Posts: 13,694 Trailblazer
Nothing wrong with Norwegian, my family on my mother's side is from Øystese, or actually from Skåro just up the sound a ways.
It looks like for some reason the monitor isn't telling the HDMI port the right PnP info, so it's assumed only the lowest resolutions are supported. Let look t the Skjerm tab (Monitor in English, though a more accurate translation is likely 'screen').

Hi billsey, nice up there in the Hardangerfjord!
here it is, thanks for your support!

Let's try taking your drivers for the video back to the one Acer supplied, 27.20.100.8280. That's not much older but who knows, they might have introduced a bug. Also, I see an Intel VGA Utility in the list of drivers, give that a try and see what it does.

    Hi billsey

    dowloaded, unzipped, installed, restarted...no change...

What does the VGA utility do? It doesn't run on my system here because I'm not the right model...

    Hi
the VGA seems to be just a patch to alllow the correct visualization on a VGA monitor. It runs in the background with no possibilty of input from the user.

Is there any chance you are in safe mode? Start up msconfig.exe and verify the Startup Selection is on Normal Startup.
