I just installed a Crucial 32gb 3200 cl16 kit to replace the oem Samsung 16gb 3200 kit, only to find that the speed is restricted to 2666, from what I've seen it should only downclock to 2933(ish) due to cpu limitations.
Why is it stated in the forums it should only downclock to 29xx but the kit is dcing to 2666? Is there anyway to ensure the ram should run at the fastest speed since the bios is locked?

DireRaven theres no point getting 3200 mhz it will clock down the new 10th gen cpus only support 2933 max and 8/9th gen 2666 max also 2400 for 7th gen and ryzen if u really want proper ram dont get crucial (personally i dont trust cheap oem brands really high CL and low performance speeds) get a proper dual channel set either hyperx or vengeance and no theres no way to make the ram clock higher as i said that wont happen with proper ram good luck
