In one of my PCs I use the Realtek software to connect to Wi-Fi. Since routers nowadays use at least 2 channels, at least one channel will be faster.
I always select to add the faster ( higher signal  strength, usually higher than 60% ) one and added to the profile. Once selected, most of the time signal strength and link quality are confirmed, close to 100% for both.  In just a couple minutes as I check back, the "Available network list" indicated I was using the weaker signal strength channel ( usually in the 20%-30% signal strength range), internet speed is just like a crawling snail, like I was using dial-up decades ago. It will automatically drop back to this slower channel. Don't know why and how to fix it?
