Solution to low performance of while Acer Aspire 5 A515-44-R8CA charging

Hi,
I've seen few topics about this problem, but each of them has been closed without finding a solution. After connecting laptop to a charger, the frequency of processor instantly drops to a famous 0,4 ghz. You can't say it is normal, my previous laptop from Lenovo on 3500u didn't have such a problem. I am not sure what may be a reason of this. Maybe badly written BIOS or too weak power supply? In Lenovo there was 65W and now it is only 45W. I've already tried installing newest BIOS, turning all settings to maximum efficiency and it didn't help at all. Have you found any solution to this problem?

What exactly do you mean by all settings? Which ones? Jack E/NJ

Each which we can find in Windos menu. Power supply settings etc.. Those which were mentioned in other topics. I've just tried to turn off faststartup, because somebody said that it worked for him, but in my case it doesn't make a difference. As I said earlier, my previous laptop didn't have such a problem and I don't think it's problem coming wrong from settings.

Open ControlPanel. Search power plan. Click 'edit power plan'. Click advanced settings. Click processor power management. Click max processor state. Please post screenshot of result if possible. Jack E/NJ

I have a theory that when battery is below 40%, the energy is supplied only from power supply. Then the 45W is not enough to charge and use the laptop. When battery level goes past 40% it starts to use battery to supply the components and power supply to charge the battery, then everything seems fine.

Yes that's what happens when the charger needs help from the battery to supply the demand for more power. When the battery charge drops to about the 50% level, power to CPU/GPU and other devices is automatically reduced so the battery can start charging again. That's why for maximum work or play time on high power demand software, the battery should be near 100% charge and plugged in. Jack E/NJ

Well, that's not helping me at all. As I said my Lenovo with 3500u doesn't have such a "feature". It is clearly a factory defect, which Acer should repair as fast it is possible.

Then simply replace the 45watt adapter with the 65watt adapter. You can google the part number for vendors/sellers that have good shipping to your region, Jack E/NJ
