OK, I'm going to add to this post. Bought my daughter a spin 1 for school. Model# SP111-33-P1XD. She's had it for about 2 weeks. On Friday, my wife told me she can't use the keyboard to login.

I've gone through pretty much everything suggested here, except a system restore. I believe it's a hardware problem, not software, mainly because I can't use the keyboard to enter the BIOS. With an external keyboard connected, I can enter the BIOS with F2, I can login to Windows (10 S), I can use Windows. Without an external keyboard, the Touchscreen, TouchPad, and on-screen keyboard work fine.

I went ahead and opened the back, removed the battery for a few minutes, opened and re-seated the keyboard connector on the motherboard. Put the battery back in and still no keyboard functionality, including no ability to get into the BIOS.

    Few diagnostic things:
    1. With the external KB, I entered the BIOS. Once in the BIOS, the external keyboard allowed me to navigate through the BIOS, the internal keyboard was still dead.
    2. With the laptop open, I logged into windows, flipped the computer over and unplugged and replugged the keyboard ribbon. Windows made the sound that it recognized a device being plugged in/unplugged, but still not working.

I'm guessing my next step is warranty.

No. First check with the vendor ASAP to see if its defective product RMA returns policy has expired. If not, simply exchange it for a new one from the vendor. ACER warranty service will take longer. Jack E/NJ
