@Nalablueberry83 If you're going to replace the motherboard my best advice is confirm the "rev #" I've identified 5 different  motherboards with the same model number different configuration. Make sure you replace with the same "rev #" board.
I too have increased the memory on my laptop. I upgraded it to 8gb from 4gb. Honestly adding the m2 ssd drive was the greatest speed improvement I've made by far. That would be my tip for an upgrade the get more speed/life from your Acer. As a student I just use my laptop for homework. With the memory/ssd upgrades I'm going to see how much more life I can get from this computer.
I did have a computer repair guy used canned air to blow out any dust which might have been overheating the CPU and making the system reboot. The motherboard fan doesn't seem to turn on so I'm replacing just the fan for now. It's only $13 for the replacement motherboard fan. Since the dust was blown out I haven't really had a problem with the computer sparatically rebooting for no reason. Best of luck with your system.

Could you elaborate on the m2 ssd drive you used? I want to put one in mine, but concerned about compatibility. I'd like a 1 TB drive, but have seen there may be a size limitation with this machine. I look forward to your response!
