Screen and Pen issues on SP515-51GN

The screen on my Spin 5 has issues when I am using the pen. The screen occasionally blinks to black with the back light on, and usually comes back within a second or two. Sometimes it does not come back. The screen remains black with the backlight on. If there is video/audio playing it will continue to play it, but no way to control it. The only way to get the laptop out of this state is to hold the power button and restart. When using the pen there are also ghost touches when I nowhere near the pen tip or where my palm touches the screen. I'm not sure if this is related. I am hoping it is some sort of software issue or driver issue. I have already checked most of the Acer/Intel/NVIDIA drivers. Any assistance is appreciated, as this this my school computer and it would be inconvenient to send it in for repair in the middle of the semester. Thank you in advance.

If this just started happening less than about a month ago, open ControlPanel. Search 'restore point'. Click 'create a restore point' in left pane. Click system restore button. Click next. Select restore point with a date stamp about when the problem started. Jack E/NJ

In Device Manager look at the HID section for pen entries. Verify they aren't set to shut off to save power...
