shall i replace/upgrade my ram with a new one?

my system specs:

currently my ram has latency timing of 17-17-17 ( 1 x 8 = 8gb )

I'm planning to upgrade the ram to 16gb ( 2 x 8 = 16gb )

 1)  shall i add one more 8gb ram of  same specs. 

                                       or

 2)  shall i replace the existing ram with two sticks ( 2 x 8 = 16gb ) of the following the ram: https://www.amazon.in/HyperX-HX424S14IB2-2400MHz-Unbuffered-Internal/dp/B071L1VBDN/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=8gb+sodimm&qid=1600057561&sr=8-6&th=1
which has a latency timing of 14-14-14

which is preferable , which way should i go for to get more performance?

Hi,
HyperX RAM may not work in your laptop because of XMP profile, I would suggest you to buy another 8GB module with same specs as your current module.
