In my acer AN515-54 when i connect my headphones, headset or externel speaker it asks me if this device is a headset or a headphone, when i choose headphone(when I m using headphones) the sound still continues to come from the internal speakers and even in the sound control panel the headphones are not shown............

Open the Realtek Audio console click on device advanced  settings in the connector re-tasking choose Headset and it should work. If not then choose Headphones.

Please click "Yes" if I have answered your question.

Your laptop has multiple GUI to configure your audio.

It may be in the Realtek Audio Console.

    OR

It may be in the Waves app.

Computers may also allows you to play 2 different audio streams at the same time --- i.e. somebody on the sofa listening to music using your computer's speakers while you watching/listening to a youtube video using a headphone. If your computer allows such feature, then your headphone will be silent because there is only 1 audio signal playing.
