My Acer Aspire laptop was sitting on the desk, and it was turned on, playing video, and then I heard a quiet "pop" and it shut down. Now it won't turn on.  It seems "dead."  The "pop" sound sounded more like an electrical sound, maybe like an electrical surge, and not the sound I hear when it powers down normally, which is a small "tick" sound.  I was using a power adapter, which was plugged into a surge protector, and other things are plugged in to that surge adapter and nothing had any power issues or blinked or anything.  Just wondering if anyone has had their Acer Aspire laptop just die and if there was something I could check to see if I could get it working.  Thanks in advance.

Thank you Jack!  You answered my other post about access my SSD hard drive, so if I can do that, I'm ready to chuck this old PC anyway as it has other issues.  Thanks again!

Old? It's a lot newer than my workhorse laptops.  :)   Good luck with getting your stuff off its drive with the Amazon adapter.  Jack E/NJ
