I have formatted a new hard drive and am trying to load windows 7 on the computer. All I get are some dots on the screen.
I don't have recovery disks or the old hard drive (broken)
The computer came with windows 8.
I have changed the boot mode to legacy as this is the only way the computer can see the USB drive.
I am using Rufus as an install tool.
Any help is appreciated.

The HDD must be MBR partitioned. It is probably GPT partitioned. Boot the Win7 USB. Click on troublshooting or advanced section to get to the X : \ > command prompt. At the X : \ > command prompt enter 'diskpart'. At the DISKPART > prompt enter 'list volume'. Please post a phoneshot of the 'list volume' result if possible. Jack E/NJ
