  1. Hi, I have had this computer for a while, never really used it... just sat under the desk while I used my laptop. I started to use it more and more but it only came with 1 RAM stick, 4GIG. which was in Bank 1.  So last week I bought some RAM, i checked and saw that this computer will only take a max of 16Gig. So i bought 2x8 gig sticks. Crucial CT102 464 BD160B. C16 FPD- 8GB DDR3L - 1600 UDIMM 1.35v  CL11. I populated the banks and turned the pc on, it didn't do POST, just hung, and a constant tone. I took the stick out of bank 2, and the pc booted up with 8GB of RAM. I tried the stick i took out of bank 2 in bank 1... to make sure it wasn't that RAM stick at fault. Both sticks of RAM work ok. I put the 4GB stick that the PC had in bank 2,, same thing... just hangs. I've unselected FAST BOOT in Windows 10, and cleaned the slot with alcohol.. but it wont work with anything in bank 2. There is no option in the BIOS to make any changes. the BIOS version has never been updated.. so its still on the version it came with from the shop,  Ver R01-A0  date  10/08/2015. I don't know what else to try.. any help would be awesome.

  2. Thanks,  Billy

Chances are the second slot is bad.  You have already tested bot RAM sticks are good.

yeah... that idea did cross my mind, thing is.. this pc has never really been used.. so the fault must have been there when i bought it... 4 / 5 years ago...cant see me getting anywhere with a warranty claim eh !!.
    Thanks for your reply.
  • Your other option(s) are to try to buy replacement mainboard for the XC-710 (if you can get one?) or a “6th Gen Intel Socket 1151 Mini ITX” mainboard, which is the type of mainboard the XC-710 has, if you really want to get the XC-710 going and not throw everything away.
