I am trying to fix my Acer Swift 3 (SF314-41). The previous user had viruses on it and gave it to me. I am trying to fix it. When powering on normally I get to "Automatic Repair" screen, which loads for a bit then goes to a black screen. I tried booting from a USB, same black screen. I tried ALT + F10 combo: same black screen after loading. It is NOT a graphics issue, as I can see the Acer logo, spinner, and can access the bios.

I have also tried a CMOS reset (5 seconds, and 30 seconds). I have tried every combination of power cycles (30 seconds, 2 minutes, 15 seconds, 3x reboots). Nothing changes.

My theory is that it is a corrupted bios, however there are NO available bios for this model online. The current bios is: InsydeH20 Rev 5.0 (v1.04).

Can someone tell me which bios is compatible to flash to my device? Or another solution, that I haven't tried already.

Thank you very much,

Ethan

If it's making it to the ACER logo screen, don't try to mess with the BIOS firmware. Prepare a Win10 USB installation stick using Microsoft's USB media creation tool. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Make sure the F12 and D2D options are enabled in the BIOS Main tab. You might also have to set and save a BIOS supervisor password, then reenter the BIOS with the password to disable secure boot. The shut the machine off. Turn it back on and start mashing the F12 key to boot from the Win10 USB stick. From there, you can either re-install Win10 on the HDD/SSD or try to wipe it clean from the troubleshooting advanced X : \ command prompt.  Jack E/NJ
