Terrible battery life on spin 5

I just bought a new Spin 5 laptop (sp513-54n) and the battery life doesn't seem to be anywhere near what's claimed (15h) . I am aware that the estimate is done under optimum conditons, but i cannot use the latop for more than about 4.5h, even with battery saver on. Is there any way I can fix this issue, or could there be a hardware issue with the device?

That's a tough call because there are so many factors that influence battery life. It's possible Windows is just doing bad estimates, you might try a couple of calibration cycles to see if it can provide better numbers: Run on battery until it shuts down due to low battery, fully charge before turning on, rinse and repeat...

To add to this, using powercfg /batteryreport in the command prompt estimated the maximum possible battery life at 6.5 hours.
