Hi 've got an acer aspire a715-72G. It came with 16M Optane and 1Tb HDD. I just change the opatne to an M2 500 Mb SSD. I creat my rescue disk, change sata mode from RST with optane to ACH i and change optane to SDD. All worked, except that when I finished all the procedure and connected my HDD as a second disk it is not reconigzed. I run Intel rapid and it only shows the HHD (doesn't show the SDD, even it's the only one recognized by windows) and saids it is not supported.
If I turn back to RST with optane both in sata mode in bios, both SDD and HDD are recognized by windows.
Is it ok to leave it in RST with optane even I don't have optane and instead I have an SSD M2 and the HDD?

  • There is no problem with keeping sata mode on rst with optane. However, you will have to be careful not to turn the second hard drive into a recovery drive.
