It has been a long time I have not installed any updates to my laptop which I will include its details at the bottom of this message. I keep getting the message to install the ActiveX control, but without having the opportunity to do it by right-clicking on the information bar and installing it. The installation is not obvious anywhere on the page.

My second question would be what operating system i can use to upgrade from Microsoft Windows XP having the below hardware components? I tried the Upgrade Assistant tool, but it does not want to run. I receive the following message: This installation package cannot be installed by the Windows Installer service. You must install a Windows service pack that contains a newer version of the Windows Installer service.

Acer Aspire 5052ANWXMi
AMD Turion 64 Mobile Technology MK-38 (2.2Ghz, 512KB L2 cache)
14.1" WXGA Acer CrystalBrite LCD
ATI Radeon Xpress 1100
80GB HDD
Upgraded  to 2.2. GHz, 1.93 GB of RAM
802.11b/g wireless LAN

Currently running: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3

Thank you for your assistance in advance,

Noura

WinXP is no longer supported by either Microsoft or ACER. The WinXP compatible browsers also do not render webpages properly and the reason why you often don't see buttons or links to click on to download or install apps, programs, controls, etc. Your machine's hardware and upgradeability is very limited by today's standards. However, you might try to upgrade WinXP to Win10 with your current limited hardware resources that would allow compatibility with more modern browsers but it will probably be much slower than WinXP. You can prepare a USB Win10 installation pendrive by going to this link. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
