Got two Acer Chromebooks for my kids for school. One set up in minutes, the next will not connect to the internet (even though it says WiFi signal is strong and we are using the same connection we used for the first computer). Keeps saying “determining device configuration” and then goes straight to “cannot connect to the  internet...browse as guest to resolve...” Please help!

What Chromebook model do you have, list the exact model number? Also is your internet provider name showing when you click the “internet access” at bottom right corner of taskbar”? There should be either an icon of and if its connected that looks like this “ )))” or a globe “O” globe if its not connected. Click on the “internet access’ at bottom right corner of taskbar and see if your internet provider is listed there in the list, if its not then do the following.

Connect to Wi-Fi network using Taskbar:

    1. Click on the Network icon in the bottom-right corner of the taskbar. (If you don't see the button, click the up arrow button on the left.) Note: Alternatively, you can open Action Center (Windows key + A), and then click the Network button in the Quick actions section to access the network flyout
    2. Select the wireless network you want to connect.
    3. (Optional) Check the Connect automatically option.
    4. Click the Connect button.
    5. Confirm the network security key (password).
    6. Click the Next button.
    7. Once you complete the steps, the device will connect to the network using the wireless connection.
    8. Or do it through Settings like this:

To set up a Wi-Fi connection with the Settings app, use these steps:

    1. Open Settings.
    2. Click on Network & Security.
    3. Click on Wi-Fi.
    4. Click the Manage known networks option.
    5. Click the Add a new network button.
    6. Confirm the name of the new network.
    7. Use the drop-down menu to select the Security type. (Usually, the security type is WPA2-Personal AES.)
    8. Confirm the network security key (password) as necessary.
    9. Check the Connect automatically option.
    10. Check the Connect even if this network is not broadcasting option (optional).
    11. Click the Save button.
    12. After you complete the steps, the computer will connect automatically to the Wi-Fi network you specified when it's range.
If all this does not work then go into Device Manager > Networks adaprots and Bluetooth and see if your WiFi/BT card is listed? If its not then reinstall appropriate Acer WiFi/BT drivers and see if it works, also after reinstalling Acer drivers, reboot and then see if WiFi/BT is connected, if its not then press F3 key or F3 and Fn keys together as that is another way to activate/turn off your WiFi/BT features. If you can see the WiFi/BT card in "Device Manager" then unistall the driver and reinstall it and do the same as above.
