I performed a Aida64 CPU stress test (System stability test with
only CPU option checked) on my Helios 300 PH 315-52 (i7 9750H, 1660ti)
since I wanted to check the temps and clocks before repasting it. I
observed something weird. Under normal condition (full or auto fan
speed), the software said 0-5% CPU throttling (Overheating issues) but
as soon as I pressed the turbo button, or overclocked my GPU through
predator sense app the graph suddenly shot up to 15-20% CPU throttling
(Overheating issues). First of all, why does this even happen at first
place when all the turbo mode does is overclock the GPU? Why
should it affect CPU tests? Second, I got around 3850ish mhz clock on
all cores in normal mode and 3956 mhz on all cores in turbo mode. Why
does Aida64 show more throttling in Turbo mode even though I am getting
more clocks? Also, I'd like to tell you that I got stable 3996 mhz on
all cores in turbo mode for the first minute (until the CPU hit 90C). I
used predator sense app to check the temps. Any kind of help/explanation is appreciated.
