I was opening up my laptop to clean the fan of the Acer predator helios 300 and this snapped off. It seems like it was for a screw but I want to make sure. This is a predator G3-571. Any help would be appreciated.

That unfortunately is either a top or bottom case mounting point bracket that is moulded into the cases, which usually snaps off whenever you open any laptop. This is a very common thing that breaks and that is why you have to be very delicate and use appropriate tools to open any laptop. Chase the screw mounting points in either the bottom or top cases and see if this mounting bracket is critical to securing your laptops cases as one mounting bracket like this should not be critical. I’ve had a few of them break (due to these things turning brittle from old age) and that is when you have to replace either the top or bottom cases.

The case seems to be secure and fine, it was my first time opening up a laptop case so I'll be more careful next time. Thank you for responding.
