computer will not connect to internet while hard wired

Hi, i have an Acer predator orion 3000 desktop, it will not connect to the internet while hardwired, if i run a self test it recommends to turn the WIFI on and will work fine.
I have tried different cables, re-starting my modem to no such luck, i have a green light on the modem and on the rear of the desktop on each port.
When looking at the adapter settings under control panel it only recognizes that i have WIFI and no LAN adaptor. so i tried to install the LAN driver from Acer's website, However it fails to install.
I have also tried re-installing windows to see if this would install the relevant drivers, But also to no such luck.

Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Fire up Device Manager and give us a look at what's there under Networking and if anything is not recognized.
