Dear all
I bought a returned
Acer Swift 3 SF314-56-59NM about a year ago. A couple of days ago the laptop didn't start anymore, only when connected to the adapter. I tried most things like Powercycle, deleting drivers, troubleshoot Power, etc. I figured the battery broke and bought a non-OEM (not original) replacement battery. The original battery is an
AC14B8K(4ICP5/57/80) 3090mAh, the replacement battery is the same only that it is 3000mAh.
I opened my laptop and installed the new battery. The laptop starts and works as normal, but the battery is not recognised and cannot charge. I assume the problem is software related, is it some kind of built-in protection against non-OEM batteries? Again I did the usual, Powercycle, reinstalling drivers, etc.
Anyone that can help me out? Since the battery is the same shouldn't it be compatible? The supplier suggest sending me a new one, but I don't think that will solve the issue as I doubt the problem is the battery itself.
Thanks in advance!
