Hi

I was googling for this information but I could not find it, can someone help with my doubt below ?
I have a Predator Helios 300 (G3-571) with BIOS version 1.01 which is the version that came from factory, I never updated it. On Acer's support website the oldest is 1.05 (doesn't even exists the 1.01 version to download) and the latest one is 1.22
The question is, can I DIRECT update from 1.01 to 1.22, is that safe ?
The readme files that comes with the updates doesn't tell anything.

Can anyone help me with that, I really appreciate!

Thanks!

Only update your BIOS if there's a problem--especially a hardware-related one--and your research suggests that the BIOS may be the cause. Research is the key to a safe BIOS update. As far as I've experienced it’s safe to update from e.g. a version 1.01 to a verion 1.22 but always remember that “Upgrading your system BIOS incorrectly could harm your Acer product. Please proceed with caution” and I take no responsibility if you do a bad flash, as you have to make sure that you have your correct computer model number, know your current BIOS and flash to an equal and an appropriate BIOS upgrade (do your research make 100% sure) and when you update your BIOS always do the following:

    1. Turn off all antivirus and malware software.
    2. Don’t have any programs running in the background that can disturb the flash process.
    3. Make sure that there is no power interruption(s) through the BIOS flash.
    4. Make sure that your Predator G3-571 is plugged into the mains and that its battery is fully charged in case of power failure.

    Hi Steven

    Thanks for the quick reply.
In fact I don't really have a problem, except some heating issues which I have already done undervolting and I will repaste my laptop again. Besides that in theory BIOS update will not change anything related to heating, but there is a specific BIOS version that I am interested to, which is the 1.10 that says "Improved system performance". So as my BIOS is quite old, I was thinking in update it to the latest one 1.22 (which includes the version 1.10)

I understand your point of view "only update if you have a hardware problem" I work with computers everyday and I know what you mean hahahaha.
The point is, I would like to take the benefit of this "improved system performance" at least.

By the way I am getting the files from the Acer Support website by typing my laptop's serial number, so I am definitelly in the right place.

So as you already seen in theory there is no problem to update it directly.

    I may have a try!

    Thanks a lot!
