Why does my laptop fps drop suddenly?

Hi can someone help me? My laptop was playing so smoothly and a few second later there was a sudden extreme lag spike then it went back up to normal but it kept repeating.

    your model is really old laptop its already 8 year old and its only a dual core 2nd gen consider upgrading to either a proper normal laptop or even a gaming laptop if youre thinking on gaming anything at all plus these days you need a laptop with ddr4 16gb minimum in dual channel mode and a good entry gpu 1660ti for ex if you want to play some games decently also have u ever repasted or cleaned it if not its time good luck
