If this is your current processor - https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/88187/intel-core-i5-6400t-processor-6m-cache-up-to-2-80-ghz.html
You can check out sites like Userbenchmark.com for possible components that could work in your box.

Your Acer Predator G3-710 comes with the Socket 1151 and Intel Z170 chipset, if you look at this list of “Intel Z170 chipset processor support” from here: https://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-Intel_(chipsets)/Z170.html the highest desktop spec Intel cpu’s that the chipset can carry is 7th Gen the i7-7700T - CM8067702868416 / BX80677I77700T / BXC80677I77700T type cpu’s but, the Acer Predator G3-710 comes with the Socket 1151 i7-6700 and i7-7700 cpu's also but they are NOT compatible between each other!

This is because the 7th Gen mainboard has a different bios e.g. the 6th Gen cpu's bios range from version 1.01 to version R01.A4 which is titled "Change function to support brand "Gateway" while for the 7th Gen cpu's the bios range from version R02.A0 which is titled "R02 BIOS only compatible with Intel 7th Gen Kabylake platform. Not upgrade from R01" to version R02-B2. So I would NOT upgrade to the 7th Gen with a 6th Gen mainboard!

I personally would stick to the 6 Gen Intel cpu’s and upgrade to the Core i7-6700 2.8 GHz to turbo boost of 3.6 GHz, L2 1MB L3 8MB as its 97% compatible with your Acer Intel 6th Gen mainboard and the bios that Acer has tried out on your particular board whcih is guaranteed and is listed in the Acer Predator G3-710 bios list of updates, simple.

NO you can't, for an AMD cpu you need a different mainboard, cant put an AMD cpu and put it into an Intel mainboard or vice versa, they won't fit   :)  lol

That depends on your current specs, it could be much better to move from a HDD to a SSD than you'd ever get from the CPU upgrade, and even memory upgrades will give you more bang for your buck. If you are already on SSD and maxed memory then the next upgrade is the processor. The biggest difference between the i5 and the i7 is that the i5 is four core, four thread, the i7 four core, eight thread, so up to twice as fast if you have complex stuff going on.

    You can use M.2 ssd
Its located under your vga slot
So if you want to add it you have to unplug your VGA first

Note that the supported M.2 SSDs are SATA3, not NVMe. Easiest is to place the new SSD in, then clone the HDD to it, then remove the HDD until you have booted at least once on the SSD, then replace the HDD and repartition it for data. If you stop after the clone step you'll still be booting from the HDD.
