My Acer Swift 314-52 Intel Graphics UHD 620 will not go beyond 1920 x 1080 in resolution
Hi,
My name is Mikkel, and I have run into a very complicated problem it seems. I have an Acer Swift 314-52 with the Intel Graphics UHD 620. The problem is, my PC will not go beyond 1920 x 1080 in resolution on ANY external monitor. That be a computer monitor or a TV. Now I have been in contact with Intel support and community. The problem is not with Intel. All drivers have been tried removed and installed, with no luck. Both computer, cable and the monitor I have bought which can run a resolution of 2560 x 1440 have been tested. The monitor works fine with other computers, the cable works fine, but the computer will not go higher than 1920 x 1080.
Now I have been told so far, that I need to get in contact with Acer to try and solve this problem. However, this will cost me money first of all, due to the fact that the computer is out of warranty, and also unneccesary, if anybody have a solution in here. I already have all types of reports and diagnostics, and everything else have been ruled out. The problem is with the driver it self.
This is also very clear, since that if I remove the driver entirely, restart the computer, and Windows runs the graphics with it's own "Microsoft Basic Graphic Driver" I can get the resolution for about 2-3 minutes, where Windows automically finds the driver somewhere, installs it (But with an error mark still in Device Manager on the graphic card) and then the resolution jumps back to 1920 x 1080.
If you check Acer's own driver download page for this computer, the last VGA driver is from 2018, and it does not work either. According to all specs from the Intel UHD Graphics report, the spec sheet of the computer, and every other place you may find the info on the abilities of the VGA card, it all says that it can run up to 4K via HDMI.
So anybody, if you have the solution, you are definitely the most beautiful and amazing person in the world, and I will bring you many riches, in the form of appraise and recognition, in any form you wish!
Thank you in advance
Mikkel
