Question about cleaning my Nitro 5 fan with air duster

So I want to try to clean my Nitro 5 (AN515-51) for the first time. I tried to do a little bit a research on how to clean a laptop using air duster. Some stated that you only need to blast the intake vent using the duster but there are differing opinions about it. Some others said that first you need to blast the output vent, after that you go for the intake vent.

So how do you safely clean Nitro 5 fan using air duster? I'm worried that the fan will break / snap if I overdo it or clog the dust even worse if I go about it wrong..
- Which one is the intake / output vent? I thought the intake is the one at the bottom and the output is the one on the backside, but I want to confirm this first.
- Do you only need to blast the intake vent using the duster? Or do you alternate between the the output vent first, then the intake vent?
- How long should you do it? How do you know if the fan have been cleaned?
- How farther the air duster nozzle should be from the vent?
- Are there any chances that the fan will get damaged from doing this?

The most efficient and best way to clean and make sure that your fans/vents are totally clean is to open the laptop back cover and inspect both fans and back vents for dust and if the fans/vents are covered and/or blocked with dust and felt particles then give them a thorough clean and also use a small paint brush. I would strongly recommend that you also repaste the cpu/gpu with a new paste preferably Thermal Grizzly Hydronaut thermal conductive paste or similar.

To clarify, intake vents is the one underneath the laptop, so yeh you can blast air from underneath the laptop and should cause any problems. Another way to clean it is to remove the back cover and you could use a brush to brush off the dust from the fans and the output vents. I usually prefer the brush method cause if you use those canned air blowers, they usually condensate and and make the dust wet, making it harder to remove the dust.

@Lordloss @StevenGen I see. But I'm not really confident about opening the back cover since I might snap / snag some cable thus I resort to using air duster..
But do you guys have any good vid recommendation on opening my Nitro model back cover?

Here, have a look at this guide as it tells you all that you need and how to do it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kz07agyNDVI its not rocket science but you have to make sure that you use a static wrist band and have the appropriate tools and do this in a clean environment. Also, arrange all the parts that you have taken off systematically so that when you put the laptop together, you know where each appropriate screw and part(s) go back into.
