best thing is to find the exact model you already have.

Read through this thread, it may answer some of the questions you have: https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/608352/guide-how-to-find-out-if-you-can-upgrade-the-ram-and-which-one-you-need

But then post any remaining doubts, we'll try to address them ;)

If you connect to www.crucial.com and download their scanner it will tell you the RAM you have and options for upgrade available and the cost including delivery. Very good site very helpful.

Hi @Manas022, did you check the link I posted above?

Go through it, you'll see that we need more information to be able to assist you. The full model number for example (you named the laptop series, there are some more letters and/or numbers after that, mine is an A515-54G, but it has -70Y9 after that, that identifies the sub-model for us so we can look at its specs), but if you go slowly through that guide you'll be running some programs and looking at some specs, do post screenshots or pictures here.

Otherwise I'm just seeing a stick of what appears to be DDR3L, not DDR4. If that's what your laptop is using then no, you can't use DDR4, the place where it goes installed is different. And likewise, if your laptop has DDR4 then nope, you can't use that stick you're holding in your hand because it wouldn't fit.

But as I said, we need more info man.
