Upgrading My Laptop Ram from 8gb to 24gb

hi all i recently bought acer nitro 7 i5 gtx 1650 model.I'm planning to upgrade my laptop ram from 8gb to 24gb by adding an extra 16gb module in the empty slot.
i have heard fom many people that mixing laptop memory does not give the expected performance.
i have kingston 8gb ddr4 2666mhz ram onboard and planning to add kingston 16gb ddr4 2666mhz of same specs.

another question is I'm planning to upgrade on my own as i'm used to these things as it would cost more to get upgraded in service centre. any 1 please help!!
will it void warranty if i upgrade on my own???

It will work with 24gb but it is not optimal. If you don`t have warranty void sticker on top of a screw then you are good and the warranty will not be voided.

yes it has a warranty stickers on top of one of the screws,
but you said it adding 16gb is not optimal.
then does adding 8gb + 8gb of same specs give good performance rather than 8+16gb ?
