I actually asked this to the Adata rep, if there is anything in my system that would prevent full speed read and write from this thing (which I also asked here). The answer clearly was none since I was able to reach on average 2500-2700 mb/s on the built in samsung drive, Adata says it should at least be able to match that speed. Also, they were confident there may be a defect because of the consistently lower read speeds and very low RND4K numbers.

Goodeman its indeed weird as the previous drive you had you could reach full speeds i would say its a drive issue and bare in mind they will always say everything is fine theres no incompatibilities whatsoever its never their fault no matter what happens unfortunately they are there to sell nothing else either way i hope you get it sorted :)

    Update on the new drive:

Speeds are near the acceptable range and deviation between read and write speeds:

Also an XPG SX8200 drive, just from a more reputable seller (and on sale, which is why I still chose it over 970 evo plus)

Just for reference, the built-in samsung drive benchmarks this much:

I guess they're just about reaching the limits of CPU or RAM (not sure) bottlenecking and might actually run faster on an i7 version of the laptop.
