Hey hey! I was busy today, and just caught up to the situation.

So, we're at a point that you have a USB stick that you can use to install Ubuntu, yet for some reason either the installation stalls at some point (sorry, no idea what the zsysd service is) or it installs fine but then you're stuck because it is frozen, am I correct?

At this point probably any Ubuntu forum is able to give you better advice or guide you through the quirks of getting it all working correctly. None of us (I think) are Ubuntu users, there's Mint (close enough, but not Ubuntu), openSUSE, even OpenMandriva, and Arch.

Having said that, a couple of remarks:
     - Secure Boot is not a problem, you can leave it off if you want to but it is unrelated since Ubuntu is properly signed.
     - Disabling the NVIDIA card could be a solution, at least until you get the proprietary NVIDIA drivers installed.

This should show you which package you need I believe:
    $ ubuntu-drivers devices
I wonder though, since you have a bootable Ubuntu USB stick, can't you boot into it instead of going straight for the installation? If you can, does it also freeze or do you get to a working desktop?

You can initiate the installation from there with Internet connectivity and all, you don't have to select the option to install Ubuntu right off the menu at boot time when you choose to boot from the USB stick.

We could contact you via email, but that wouldn't change the time we get back to you I'm afraid, we can't be here 24/7 because it wouldn't pay the bills and there are more threads that require attention too. Besides, this way we all get to see what happens or doesn't happen ;)

But you didn't answer my question from before:

Hell, it can't be that hard to get Ubuntu installed of all the darn distros there are. Suppose you can boot into the Ubuntu USB stick and reach the live desktop, just install Ubuntu from there while connected to the Internet but don't reboot afterwards.

Instead, "chroot" into the installed system and install the nvidia drivers that the above command I posted recommends, it should make sure nouveau is never loaded (because it has a file to blacklist it) and at the very least you should probably be looking into NVIDIA's Prime, or bumblebee or something, there's just sooooooo much information out there regarding all this.

With all the trouble you had for creating a bootable USB stick, I think you should take the time to read through online docs and posts instead of videos off YouTube. Try to understand things, there are plenty of guides out there on how to install and troubleshoot issues, even the Arch wiki may be useful. But as I said before...

And it you needed real time responses IRC may be your solution, I'm sure there are plenty of people there willing to help as well that are more versed in what you're going through than us.

    Hi @aphanic
Now I am able to boot into Ubuntu properly.

These are the steps I followed.

    1. Boot from Bootable USB and select Ubuntu Safe graphics
    2. Try Ubuntu, and from main screen select "Install Ubuntu"
    3. After installing ubuntu I made changes in /etc/default/grub file just added nomodeset
    4. From software update center I did this settings.
    and your above method.

NOW other problem I am facing is I am not able to decrease the brightness.
but still I am getting error when I try to change the brightness. How can I fix brightness issue.

    Thanks
    Shrimant More.

My recommendation is that you do not connect to the internet or download any updates or packages during the installation.
Skip all these steps and only after installed update, is necessary.
I am an Ubuntu user and about to install Ubuntu on my new Acer Nitro5 . I havent installed Ubuntu on the new Acers yet, but heard many people say same as you to not download any updates during installation, may I ask why? Just curious.
