Good day,
I'm wondering, if Acer Aspire A515-51G-54AH has automatic turning off, when the CPU is overheated.
Thanks.

Yes, all of them have, it is configurable by the manufacturer of the computer (Acer in this case), but all of the processors have save values at which they completely shut down to prevent further damage to the system.

Yours is an i5 8265U and when an internal temperature (the one of the die, similar, but not the one you can see via software) reaches the máximum junction temperature it shuts down, it is set at 100º C as per its specification information: https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/124967/intel-core-i5-8250u-processor-6m-cache-up-to-3-40-ghz.html
  • In this case, following the reasoning of colleague Aphanic, it may be necessary to repast with a new thermal paste. I also advise to clean the fans.
