Monitor doesn't show in Device Manager

A couple of days ago, I purchased an S200HL monitor, after my monitor went totally black on me.

This is my 4th monitor that I've owned.  Up to now, in Device Manager, under Monitors, the model of the monitor that was connected would show.

For some reason, when I check Device Manager now, all I show is a "Generic PnP Monitor".  Also, under Display Settings, the monitor is identified as "Generic PnP Monitor on NVidea GeForce GT 620".  Nothing, anywhere, identifies the monitor as an Acer S200HL, being connected to the computer.

My second problem occurred, when I tried to download the driver.  The file I downloaded was:

Monitor_Acer_1.0_Vistax64Vistax86XPx86XPx64W7x86W7x64_A, from the Acer website.

When the files are extracted, I get 2 files:

S200HL as an ICC Profile with 1 KB

S200HL as a Setup information file, with 3 KB, which is a text file

Obviously, neither of these files are drivers.  There are also no drivers included with the disk, that came with the monitor.

Am I missing something?

Thanks

Dave

Right click the .INF file and choose Install.

It should enumerate and display correctly in Device Manager.

Where am I supposed to find the .INF file

It is not on the disk, that was included with the monitor.

I tried downloading the driver from the website.  When it gets extracted, all I show are 2 files:

    S200HL as  ICC Profile

S200HL as Setup Information.  This file opens as a text file.

I can't find the driver, or an .INF file anywhere.

    Thanks

    As a follow-up

If I try to right click the S200HL Setup Information folder, and then Install, I get an error message.

The .inf file you selected does not support this method of installation

I also get this same problem:

Model G236HL shows up only as Generic PNP Monitor in all listings.

DL the suggested file from Acer and unzipped it, and right clicking on the *.inf file and choosing Install gives an error message that this inf file cannot be installed by this method.  I am Administrator (Win7-32 bit) and also did the properties option of 'unblock' on the inf file in case that might have been the problem.

I have found no way to have the actual monitor model show up.

Does anyone know whether the Model of the monitor should show in Device Manager, instead of "Generic PNP Monitor".  In the past, the only time Device Manager would give that designation, was when there was a problem with the monitor.
