Hi
I purchased an Acer Aspire A515-54G-54ES laptop around May 2019. Last month (June 2020) the laptop stopped charging. Eventually, once the battery drained the laptop switched off and since then I have not been able to restart the laptop. I have assumed that the issue is with the charging cable and hence tried to source a new cable. The specific charger required has the following specifications:
65W, 19V, 3.42A, input pin 3.0x1.1 mm.
Unfortunately, the input size seems to be very rare and is not widely available. I am thus not able to source this in South Africa. Amazon does not ship to South Africa.
Does anyone know where and how I can purchase a replacement charger?
Regards

Yes, it's the new default for Acer devices, maybe compatible chargers aren't get available but you may be able to find adapters or whole power adapters at AliExpress for example; but they can take up to 3 weeks to arrive I'm afraid...

    For example:
     - Adapter conversion set: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33056982803.html
     - 90w power adapter: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32597758635.html
     - Just a tip with USB type C input (you could plug a 65w USB type C power adapter there): https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33016764407.html

I just did a quick search so there may be other sellers with better prices or different products, like a 65w power adapter instead of that 90w.

But I'd try contacting Acer first, maybe the could help. Tell them about your problem and ask if they'd be able to provide you with an original replacement and how much it would be.

    Thanks for this.

I have tried the universal adapter. It seems the 3*1.1 mm tips supplied are slightly smaller than the Acer charger tip. Specifically the external tip diameter is slightly smaller. They do not work at all.

I will try the Acer support center first before trying the USB C input. Hopefully they will be able to supply a replacement charger.

I just checked my invoice. I actually only purchased this in December 2020 so it should still be under warranty.
