How do I get my monitor to run at 144hz?

Today, my new monitor just arrived. Its model number is ED273URPbidpx (I don't know if the last bit is actually a part of it). On amazon and the acer website, it is advertised as being able to run at 1440p@144hz however I have only been able to get 1440p@60hz. I have tried going into Display adaptor properties but the only options are 59 and 60hz. I am also running the latest drivers for both the monitor and my graphics card (GTX 1060 6GB). I am using the DVI cable that came in the box (it is plugged directly into my computer, not an adaptor). How can I get it to run at 144hz?

Check this guide out on “Troubleshooting: How to Make Your Monitor Run at 144Hz?” here: https://www.benq.com/en-us/knowledge-center/knowledge/144hz-gaming-monitor-for-gameplay-setting.html because and if you are running Win-10 then go to Setting > System > Display > Advanced Display Settings > Display Adapter Properties as the 59Hz and 60Hz is a “Primary” option only for your OEM Intel Graphics that has these screen refresher rate(s). The NVIDIA GTX 1060 which is not used as the primary graphics card, the NVIDIA GTX 1060 graphics properties only kicks in when advanced graphics is needed and then your Acer ED273URP monitors 144Hz refresher rate will be used and utilised.

Applications that do not require high performance video settings will use integrated graphics by default (as I’ve said above).
