Do you mean the battery seems to stop charging under heavy load? If yes, this is normal under heavy power load when the CPU and GPU are demanding more power than the charger can deliver by itself and charge the battery at the same time. During those times, the battery supplements the charger to deliver the power needed. So the battery isn't charging because it's being drained to supply the needed power. Jack E/NJ

Well, as I said, it does seem to stop charging because I can hear the beep as if I disconnected the AC adapt. The icon in the notif. area changes from batt. plugged to only the batt. This also happens when I'm playing BF3 or BF4, and it also happens when I'm just surfing the net. The issue is not quite the fact that it stops charging and then it reconnects automatically; the actual issue is the fact that it will not reconnect itself and I have to do it manually. It doesn't always happen, but it DOES happen, and when I'm playing video games or doing some work on Lr that demands full attention, I don't like getting myself distracted with a problem that shouldn't exist at all.

This suggests the GPU may be overheating. Have you been watching CPU/GPU & GPU temps? You may want to consider vacuuming the air intake ports and blowing air through the exhaust ports to help dislodge and accumulated dust/debris around the fans or heatsinks. If that doesn't help, you may want to repaste the heatsinks with a higher quality paste than comes from the factory, such as ArcticMX4 or Kryonaut. Jack E/NJ

Just to complement the suggestion of colleague JackE, can you send some screenshots, showing the temperatures with the HWMONITOR program?

Today it has been worse, it's doing it even with very basic stuff like opening pictures on Tw or Fb. I'll send you screenshots of temps in a while. I've recorded a video where you can see how the LED incators blink and change color.

OK! Can you check battery wear with hwinfo64? Have you ever tried to reset the battery and put some layers of electrical tape over that button?

So far:

tried pressing the button hidden in the batt hole the way you told me to do. Problem was still there.
uninstalled batt drivers as you have indicated on other threads. No success.
changed outlet to different ones. Nope!
got a new AC adapter from Amazon, and the beep and disconnection issue reappeared.

The issue has been getting worse and worse. Now, I don't need to be using a demanding application to see it. Just a couple of tabs on Chrome and Word all open at the same time will make that happen. Sometimes, right after logging in to windows will make the comp have that weird behavior. I'll go to

Yes, if taping the switch next to the RAM doesn't work, I'll take the next step to vacuum the heat sink. I'll check on the temp to see if that's an issue as well. Honestly, I haven't done.

Check the temperatures with the hwmonitor. I also recommend that you check the battery for wear with hwinfo64.

Alright, so I taped the little rubber piece you told me to.

So far, so good. No disconnection, no beeping, no batt icon being disconnected from the AC adpt.

I'm just curious as to how much tape is actually enough on that. Don't wanna start a discussion, it's me being curious lol.

Also, I will not rate this thread as "solved" until a few days have passed. You asked me for the temp stats on HWmonitor, so I've added those here.

If I get to have one week with no beeping, I'll come back and leave this thread as solved, but before taping it by this time it would have beeped several times.

It's been almost a week, but the issue reappeared

One thing I've seen is that there's kind of a sweet spot of either too little or too much tape. I've tried different thickness levels, and the one I have right now had been working almost perfectly for the last three days.

Again, what should I do next? I'm running out of options

Yes, I have. They're usually in the 60s - 80s range (Celsius). The problem is still there, but the frequency has significantly been reduced. Yet, I'm not happy until it is entirely gone.
