Hello everybody,

I am a happy user of a Acer Ferrai One 200 laptop (4GB RAM and 500 GB Serial ATA 5400 RPM).
My laptop is still like brandnew, but relatively slow if I open a large presentation in Powerpoint (version 2016) and Internet and ZOOM, for example, to give a presentation for a online teaching course.
I just love this beautiful and small laptop that I still use with great joy and would like to upgrade the RAM from 4GB to 8 GB and the Hardisk to 512 SSD, if possible.

A search on internet revealed folowing:
https://www.compuram.biz/memory/acer/notebook/ferrari/series/one-200-netbook/?st=tab_maxmem

Please advise.
I would very much appreciate any valuable input to realize this.

Thank you very much in advance.

What is the exact model of the laptop? Example an515-51-75kz. Does the same problem occur when accessing the bios? Have you checked if the hard drive, processor and ram are at 100% consumption in the task manager?

I'm afraid the CPU is rather weak, that may be your problem.

4 GBs of RAM is still plenty enough and I don't think it's what's causing the slowdown. I would advise to replace the SATA HDD for a SATA SSD, that's a really meaningful change that will surely make it feel as if the computer were much more faster even with the RAM amount you have.

I couldn't get any authoritative source on the maximum amount of RAM that processor supports, but judging by its age, if it's not 4 GB it could be 8. Check out this thread for information on getting new RAM (I'd still prioritize the SSD though): https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/608352/guide-how-to-find-out-if-you-can-upgrade-the-ram-and-which-one-you-need

Thank you soo much for this valuable comment and infos.
I will try to get a SATA SSD and see what happens after that. If that does not help I will try the RAM upgrade option to 8GB.
    With best wishes.
    Again appreciate the prompt response.
