Acer Aspire 3 A315-41: Laptop won't boot up in first try

I have a brand new issue with my laptop; not a deal breaker but not smooth sailing either.

When I press the power button to start the laptop, the blue power LED lights up, fans start running, then within 2-3 seconds the laptop dies down. Then automatically after another 1 second, the display lights up, power LED lights up, and the laptop boots up normally. Any ideas on what might be the issue? Everything else works fine.

This issue occurs only after I leave the laptop turned off for about 10-15 hours or more. If I shut down the laptop, then turn it on after an hour or so, the laptop boots up immediately when I press the power button.

  • Do you know if this problem occurs only when using battery power and if this problem occurred after updating the bios to version 1.17?

    Do you know if this problem occurs only when using battery power and if this problem occurred after updating the bios to version 1.17?
    This problem was not present immediately after 1.17 bios update, but after some weeks or so. I recently updated bios to 1.18, but it didn't solve the issue. Happens even if the laptop is plugged to the charger.

    I am facing this same issue since today. Apparently, this is a well known problem with this laptop. Flipkart and Amazon (India) have 100s of reviews complaining about this same problem.

    The problem seems to be with the keyboard, and many reviews say Acer provides a replacement for the keyboard. I am going to see if customer support can help. None of their agents are free when I try to contact them.

    Yes it seems to be a keyboard issue. I contacted Acer service center, and they confirmed that the keyboard is at fault. It is ridiculous as I had replaced my keyboard about 3 weeks back because it went dead, and now this new issue has cropped up.
