Do thermal pads matter?

Hello.

I am planning to repaste my Helios 300 Ph315-52 (GTX 1660ti, i7 9750H). I'll also be changing the thermal pads if they're damaged. I was just wondering if the quality of VRAM/Capacitors thermal pads really matter if I'm using a good paste(Kryonaut) for the CPU and GPU dies. Will any generic thermal pad (1.2W/mK~2.0W/mK) just do fine or should I go for the branded expensive ones(which are difficult to obtain in my country during these times)? Will it have any effect on performance/health of the laptop?

Thank you.

@shantanuthakur1 thermal pads do not affect the cpu/gpu thermals they are more to level the heatsink and at the same time provide some cooling to the vram chipsets and yes you should use kryonaut its the best you can get and as you said the thermal pads should only be changed if they are damaged just bare in mind that your models also has a thick pink thermal paste on some of the vram chipsets acting as thermal pads i would save as much as possible on disassembly and if needed add a bit of kryonaut to it just to make sure theres no gaps between the heatsink and the vram chipsets i have seen ppl using just the same thermal paste as the cpu/gpu (as you cant get that thick pick paste its not easy) and didnt had any issues at all either way good luck with your repasting :)

Thanks a lot for your reply! I had a query here. Did you mean that I should refrain from opening the heat sink since it will make the pink paste useless?  If yes, I think it is already bad because I had given it for a repaste under warranty a month ago. I don't they would have bothered about the pink paste. I'm doing it myself again since they didn't do a very good job.
If the pink paste is in bad condition, can I just replace it with thermal pad of suitable thickness?

They have that paste in the service centers what i meant its not easy for the end user to get it
