I did purchased Gaming Laptop of Acer Nitro 7 AN715-51 9th Generation i5 intel core processor 250GB SSD and 1TB HDD and 6GB Nividia Graphics card. I would like to have Ubuntu as a dual boot along side Windows 10. Can someone help me with the proper way to share the RAM and swap memory?

    What do you mean to share ram? Swap is virtual ram which Linux uses ( can`t be shared either ). If you want to install as a virtual machine then ram is shared if you want to isntall as a dual boot then whichever OS is running it utilizes the entire hardware...

    @batmalin
    Thank you for the quick response. I don't want to use the Ubuntu OS as a virtual machine. Instead I would like to have it in the dual boot mode.

    I want to know the process of installing the OS side by side with the Windows. I just don't want to mess-up with the Windows 10 Home (which came along with the laptop). And also want to install Ubuntu to work on for my projects. So could you please provide me some guidelines so that I can use this super speed gaming laptop for my multi-tasking programs also with the dual boot.

    Thanks in advance.

    @Vidyasaga9 First you have to disabe Fast Boot and Secure Boot in BIOS and enable boot menu. After that you have to change the SATA operation mode to AHCI by doing so:
    1. Open a Command Prompt  window as admin.
    2. Set the boot loader to go to safe boot:
      bcdedit /set {current} safeboot minimal
    3. Restart and get into the BIOS, switch the SATA operation mode from RST to AHCI (press ctrl+s in the main BIOS tab in order the option to appear), save changes and Windows goes into Safe Mode.
    4. Open the prompt again and remove the BCD value:
      bcdedit /deletevalue {current} safeboot
    5. Reboot and that's it.

    After all the steps above are done you have to download Ubuntu make a bootable usb drive with Rufus by choosing GPT and UEFI - non CSM, boot from the usb drive  by pressing F12 to invoke the boot menu and choose install Ububtu  and when the istaller asks where to install  choose install alongside Windows option.
