Have Aspire E15 E5-575G-53VG with Windows 10 and have connected an external monitor on which to edit my photos. I have chosen to only display on 2nd monitor and selected for power to stay on when closing lid.  But, when I reopen lid my laptop screen powers up and laptop and external monitors are now in duplicate mode changing the view on my second monitor. How do I keep laptop monitor from powering up and changing view on external monitor when I open laptop lid?

    @Sautee2020 Step by step
    Step-A
    The lid close action setting in power options lets users specify the default action to take when the laptop (system) lid is closed.
    Users need to set actions to do nothing

    Step-B
    1. -click anywhere on the desktop.
    2. Click Display settings.
    3. Scroll down to Multiple Displays.
    4. Click the drop-down menu for Multiple displays, select Show only on 2, then click Apply

      Display options

    I’ve done the things outlined in the previous comment already.  I can close my laptop without shutting down.  The problem arises when I reopen my laptop.  It boots the laptop’s screen and makes it the primary which changes the resolution as well as changing the display setting to Duplicate and shows on both screens. I have not been able to keep the laptop screen from coming on when I reopen the laptop.
