Hello,
I have bought a new "boya m1" mic yesterday but when i tried to connect it with my acer aspire and tried to record something then i came to know that it was not recorded using Boya m1 instead it was recorded using laptop's built in mic.

So i connected the mic with my old lenovo laptop and boya m1 mic worked like a charm, when i tried the the mic with different mobile phones then it also worked fine...so clearly it is a fault of acer aspire. One thing to note that in my old lenovo laptop i have separate jack for mic and for headset, but in my acer aspire i have one jack for both mic and headset. Please tell me how to solve this issue as mic is fine, the issue is with laptop.

I am using Windows 10.
Laptop: Acer Aspire (Ultra Thin)
Model: Aspire V5-573P-6896
Core i5-4200U 1.6GHZ with turbo boost up to 2.6GHZ

When you first plug the mic in the OS should come up with a window asking you what it was that was plugged in. If you don't answer that correctly, or skip it, the OS won't automatically switch you to the new device. Bring up Sound Settings, scroll down to Input and choose the right mic to use.
