Recovery Disk

Hello!

As I read in many different threads in the forum, when I received my Helios 300 (PH315-52) the first thing I tried was to create a recovery disk using Acer Care Center.
Unfortunately when I tried the steps I found Care Center ended opening the Backup page of the Windows 10 configuration app.

I figured out that the application I saw in the prints was recoverydrive.exe and then I ran it, chose the backup system files option and created the disk.

My doubt is:
- Does it work the same way as acer care center?
- Does it hold all acer configurations, services, programs and other files as in the original system image?

I started updating firmwares and applications by my own as care center would not give me the most updated versions of intel UHD graphics, killer wireless drivers and killer network app, NVIDIA drivers, etc.

Thanks for your support
Gabriel

GabrielSimões1983 Yes youre correct because the care center its now an windows app its kinda connected to windows 10 ui now (they probably changed the call to software command and replaced it to go to the windows 10 backup ui which in my view its not helping at all) i would probably search recovery driver or create recovery drive on start menu and do it via the recovery app acer care center will not update any drivers as acer wont release driver updates on the official website (only if really needed) as all stock drivers are previously tested for the best performance of each device model.

And yes thats the way to create a stock recovery drive  previously care center would automatically open it but seems not since it became a windows app wont open it anymore (dunno why) but yes thats the correct way to do is if successful will create a complete stock drive with the acer recovery partition which would install all the pre loaded acer software

On my aspire 5 win10 1903 i have to search and open the recovery manually

On my G3-572 still on 1809 and not moving up it will auto open the recovery just bare in mind if you upgraded the windows from home to pro the recovery will not recognise the version anymore and it will fail (thats my case when i updated from the stock 1703) i also suggest that you dont update any drivers/firmware via windows update in fact disable it from doing it or even completely (windows update on windows 10 its kinda a cancer you dunno if it will work or break and be even worse) and only update whatever you need when needed and manually :)

Anyway hope this will be useful for anyone else searching for it good luck )

    Thanks for your reply!

On the recovery disk, all good then! Great news.

On the drivers, many doubts: don´t you regularly update drivers based on the hardware company releases?

I have found killer, intel gpu, nvidia gpu and other drivers newer versions and I installed them all.
I have also found a newer version of predator sense and now I don´t know if I should try to install it or not.

Killer has given me some headaches: it wouldn´t install unless I downloaded another program that would remove all killer drivers from my computer.
In the end I did it and now I have 2 issues:
    - Killer Manager is now a windows 10 app and I can´t add it to predator sense as a shortcut (yes, I use it!)
    - Killer now displays a message saying I am connected to a poor quality network and that I should change it. It didn´t happen before so now I don´t know if this is a new feature or if the new drivers are giving me poorer performance.

I have also found a newer version of predator sense and I don´t know if I should try to update it.

Also, I´d lile to check that the behavior I see is normal:
    - Killer Manager consumes around 150mb ram
    - Killer services 150mb ram more
    - Predator Sense, when closed, consumes 80mb.

My computer starts consuming 4gb ram! (new to windows 10, is that ok?)
