Hi All, forum noob here. I have an Acer N50-600 and everything was working fine with my old setup, I have change my TV to an LG OLED, I have connected my TV to my PC with a HDMI and the tv to my A/V system with an optical cable. Everything else is working fine (my Sky Q box, my PS4 etc.) I have sound coming out when I play movies or Spotify but no sound when playing YouTube videos, FB videos, messenger videos. Anyone come across this problem before or can offer any ideas I may not have tried? It's quite frankly driving me nuts.

HDMI pass through the audio signal to the tv and the tv does the same to the receiver without encoding it, so what happens when you disconnect the receiver? Do you get audio on the tv then?

Thanks for the reply Batmalin, TBH I've not tried that mate. I did have the hdmi going through the A/V and hdmi to tv and the sounds worked fine but to get the best HDR I've moved all hdmi to tv and all sound through an optical cable to my A/V atmos system. Picture quality is mind blowing as is the sound when playing spotify or movies/dvd's etc but all online video feeds have no sound?

So you have HDMI cable from PC to the tv and one optical  from PC to the receiver right?

No, no sound with or without? it was working fine, only thing apart from the connection change  was a windows update but I've checked all the sound drivers.

Uninstall the sound drivers and install the original from Acer website and check if this fixed the issue

It's weird, when I first switch on PC first video (YT, FB etc) plays fine, then if I click on another video no sound??? Doing my nut in now to be honest.

Try with live linux distro to check if it`s a HW or SW issue.

Hi, thanks for all the replies. I found out that if I open my chrome browser and play a video the sound is fine, then of I try to play a second video, no sound. If I close the browser the next time I play a video audio is again fine, so if i keep closing the browser it will play the audio on one video then will have to be closed and reopened before it will play the audio. I've tried all of the.other suggestions you have mentioned.

Did you tried this as well? "Try with live Linux distro to check if it`s a HW or SW issue. "
