Hi

I have a newish laptop with only an HDMI port and an Acer VGA monitor (AL 1716) that I am trying to connect. The VGA-HDMI adapter cable is brand new.

All I see is 'Input not supported'. The advice from Microsoft - the laptop runs Windows 10 - was to try and install an OEM driver but all I can find here on the Acer website are a couple of zip-files that don't contain much beyond a few lines of text, and a manual in Chinese. Neither of which are of any help.

Any suggestions what to do?

Many thanks

VGA-HDMI isn't the adapter you want. You want an HDMI-VGA to convert the laptops HDMI to the monitors VGA. The two adapter types are not the same...
