Today I noticed something strange. I couldn't click on the "back" arrow in Chrome on full screen. The arrow wouldn't even be highlighted when I hovered the cursor over it. It also doesn't work on touch. I then resized the Chrome window and found out that it looks like that screen area (about 1cm from the top left corner) is unresponsive to clicks - whether touchpad or touch. I can bring up the context menu everywhere on Desktop except in that tiny area. If it was happening with touch only, I'd conclude it's a screen problem. But it happens both with touch and touchpad. :o

Try doing a click  and drag into that area. Does it release as soon as you enter it? It might be a background app that's capturing events in that spot. You can try a power wash to see if that gets rid of it.
