Hi. I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me with my computer problem. I'm keen to fix it asap to get some job applications sent.

My computer is an Acer aspire E15 (E5-523G-90QW) running Windows 10.

On 1st July 2020 (is the date significant?), I was watching YouTube and my computer suddenly displayed blue screen of death and told me to see windows.com/stopcode.

I followed the process on the windows site to restart in safe mode, but it could not load windows. It opens with the acer logo for 5 secs, and then I get as far as a black screen called windows boot manager. It stays on this page for a minute before it tries to reboot again, and the loop replays itself.

The page says:
Windows boot manager
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert your windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next."
3. Click "Repair your computer."

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

File: \EFI\Microsoft\Boot\BCD
Status: 0xc000000f
Info: The boot configuration data for your PC is missing or contains errors.

I can access UEFI firmware settings by pressing ESC

I tried to make a recovery drive using my samsung galaxy s9 phone (android) but it wouldn't let me transfer the iso file to my USB or SD card because it was over 4GB size. I read that if I reformat the USB drive/SD card from fat32 to exfat, then I'll be able to transfer the bigger file, but apparently I need a windows computer to do this, leading me back to my initial problem.

I am stuck in a cycle of "there's a hole in my bucket" logic!

I'm currently isolating until I get my Covid test results back, and then I will get my friend to help make a recovery drive on their computer.

Until then, is there anything else I could be doing, ideally without losing my documents?

Thank you for your help!
