I currently have an Acer Nitro Desktop N50-100 with a GTX 1050 ti 4 GB, a Ryzen 5 2500x and 12 GB of ram and I wanted to know if it's possible to upgrade both the cpu and gpu. I also want to know what cpu and gpu combo is supported with my motherboard.

Firstly, its very hard to advise and to give you any upgrade suggestions if you don’t give us the model number of your mainboard, as there are allot of variations and models of the Ryzen with either Nvidia or AMD Radeon Nitro N50-100 pc’s. As far as I can find out and you have stated, your OEM cpu is the Ryzen 5 2500X (4 cores and 8 threads with a std 3.6GHz to 4.0GHz turbo freq and L2 cache of 2MB and L3 cache of 8MB and TDP 65W) so, upgrading a socket AM4 is possible but and it must be mentioned that the cpu compatibility is determined by your motherboard and chipset.

The Nitro N50-100 that came with the and your OEM Ryzen 5 2500X cpu also came with the upper spec Ryzen 7 2700X (8 cores/16 threads/3.7 to 4.3 GHz/L2 4MB/L3 16MB and TDP of 105W) that means and should be a guide of what you can upgrade your cpu to, also, the Ryzen 7 2700X is the top spec cpu for the AMD-Pinnacle Ridge series socket AM4 cpu’s and should improve your systems performance quite a bit and you should consider that with the gpu upgrade.

With the gpu, it depends entirely on your budget? I would prefer to upgrade to an Nvidia GeForce type to keep to your original OEM, you could upgrade to either the RTX 2060 Super, RTX 2070 Super or the RTX 2080 Super (depends on your budget?).
