My laptop model is Acer Aspire ES1-531, and I've had it for approximately 4 years. Recently, it has been running slow, which was to be expected. It had frozen last night at 9:19pm, yet I did not realise it had frozen until around 7:37am, meaning it had spent a fair while frozen. This was of little concern to me, as it had spent longer frozen, but I had been drawing beforehand and forgot to save the piece (and I was quite proud of it. And a little ****, as this had happened beforehand and I was tired of losing the drawing). So I waited around 20-30 minutes, hoping it'd somehow unfreeze. Although it didn't, so I turned it off without a second thought. However, as I turned it on, it started on the Acer Startup screen saying 'Preparing Automatic System Repair' and then the screen went black. I turned it off and turned it back on again, and this time it started up on a loading wheel (I suppose I could call it that) and then jumped to 'Preparing Automatic System Repair'. I've tried a fair few things (Enabling D2D Recovery (despite it being already enabled, apparently), hard restarting once I reach either 'Preparing Automatic System Repair' or just the loading wheel, etc.) to minimal success. Any recommendations? Many thanks!
