So I just got my Helios 300 2019 version having the following specs:
  • Intel Core i7-9750H
  • GeForce GTX 1660 Ti (6 GB)
  • 5.6" Full HD 144Hz Display (3ms Response time)
  • 16GB DDR4 RAM
  • 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD
  • RGB Backlit Keyboard
Two days after I got it, Acer released a 2020 version of the same laptop with few minor changes. Are those minor changes going to give a drastically better performance? Well, I'm happy with what I got but was just curious. I also heard that there is only 10% increase in the performance of the i7-10750H over the i7-9750H.
(PS I got the laptop for 1100$+tax)

I dont think so. Specs is little same. New in 2020 is 10th intel cpu. And performace is not so much from 9th generation. About GPU they still use same GTX1660ti a RTX2060/2070Mq. Only add 50watt to powerbrick to 230W powerbrick in 2070mq graphics editions. And add famous steel balde fun :D For me not important because in high RPM is little loudle and noise then plastic... But in my option its not so much difference. If you wanna go to Triton or wait then they add thunderbolt.

When you said 10 percent gain in performance that is only because the 10th Gen i7-10750H has a higher TURBO frequency than the 9th Gen i-7 9750H. Otherwise, 2019 with i7-9750H and GTX 1660ti and the new 2020 Helios 300 10th Gen CPU and GTX 1660ti in reality are the same. The minor tweaks or installed components are so small to notice any significant improvement in performance. However, avoiding the flaky nVidia RTX 2060 which is faulty and going with the reliable RTX 2070 Max-Q for a boost in performance.  Anyone owning a 2018 or 2019 Helios 300, please do not purchase the new 2020 Helios 300. If you require something better I'd look into the Acer Triton 300 with the RTX 2080 Super. Then Razer Blade 15 Pro, Lenovo Y740 and the few upper tier MSI laptops. Need custom made check out Falcon Northwest.  Do not buy HP, Dell/Alienware, or ASUS and stay far away from Apple. Pass the word to people about avoiding anything with the nVidia RTX 2060 at all cost.

It's the same in the context of Nepal. The price is rather expensive for the 10th gen model and that is to be expected because of the generational upgrade. However, there is not a big difference in performance. I wonder why Acer did not choose AMD Ryzen processors like its own Nitro series, Asus TUF A-series and Zephyrus series. At this point in time, I am not sure which one to buy Acer Predator Helios 300 2019, 2020 or something else?
