Your Predator G6-710 can be upgraded, with an upgrade to the cpu, gpu, ram and power supply, which you would have to do if you upgrade.

The following upgrades can be done:
    1. CPU - I would leave te cpu at your oem Core i7-6700k, as you can't upgrade to a better or faster cpu or to a Core i7-7xxx it wont work with the mainboard or chipset of your oem Predator G6-710.

    2.
GPU - with the gpu it depends on what you intend to use the gpu for? If you want to change your oem GeForce
GTX 970 to a GeForce 1080Ti , which is the most cost effective and will improve performance by at least 30% and is the "One Up" upgrade but, you can go to the latest and curent GeForce 2070 Super (depends on your budget?) as the GeForce 2070 Super will give you more performance over your oem GeForce GTX-970 with these improvements: 162% higher gaming performance. Supports PhysX. Supports G-Sync. Supports ShadowPlay (allows game streaming/recording with minimum performance penalty). Supports Direct3D 12 Async Compute. Supports DirectX Raytracing (DXR), Supports Deep Learning Super-Sampling (DLSS)

    3. RAM
    - oem comes with DDR4 SDRAM (use CPUz to see your oem spec of ram in SPD “Max Bandwidth” and “Module Manuf.” to see the specs of your oem 16GB ram and try to match the nanufacturer of your oem ram to upgrade to the same specs, as the Predator G6-710 has 4x slots for the ram and can take up to 64GB of max ram, if you want to upgrade it? If you do then I would buy a kit of either 2x 16GB or 4x 16GB (depends on what you want to use it for?) of either; DDR4-2400 UDIMM or DDR4-2666 UDIMM or DDR4-3000 UDIMM or DDR4-3200 UDIMM or DDR4-3600 UDIMM, depends on your budget but try to get faster ram than your oem.

    4. Power Suply
    - the oem is 365W which is Acer part number DC.73018.001 with a 1st PS Cable of, 2x6pin, 1x2pin and the 2nd PS Cable of 2x6pin, 1x2pin whcih you should change to at least an ATX 550W with the same cables as you will need extra power.

Cheer and hope this helps, as I've done some of these upgrades and they work100%.
